RPS AU Outline in the Rough

brynwulf. OMG, this thing needs a title.
Okay, so what I see right now is basically four parts/chapters/fics. And I'm sort of at a loss as to how to end it because I'd LIKE to leave it sort of open ended so we can a) play again and b) invite others to come and play. So we should negotiate whether all or any of this works for you and how you think it should be changed and what you see for the ending and stuff.
1. Okay, so the way I see it opening is that Jared, Jensen and maybe Tom Welling and Mike Rosenbaum or SOMEONE ELSE are all at a deportation center. And because they're celebrities, they're getting the VIP treatment. So they're off with the center supervisor overlooking the main floor and they're talking, "Blah, blah blah, this is how it works and we're going to make it as painless as possible and blah blah" and then we can put in some exposition in the form of questions about the Avian Flu and stuff. And Jensen's restless and only half-paying attention. Mostly he's watching the floor. And then one of the government handlers down on the floor gets suddenly, violently ill. And people start freaking out and going crazy. And the supervisor runs out to handle the problem and Jensen's like, "We should get out of here." And everyone's kind of like "Aw, Jenny, quit being such a woman; everything's cool." But then the problem's getting worse and soldiers come in and start shooting people. And so Jensen tells Jared to pick the lock on the OTHER door of the office that leads to the administrative part of the building. And so they flee the facility and in the chaos, Jared and Jensen get separated from Mike and Tom. And Jared says, "What now?" And they don't know. So they go back to Jensen's apartment. And they find out from the news that the Canadian government that all the deportation centers have closed and that they're not going to be letting anyone else out of the country. And the boys are freaking out. "We can't stay here! What about our families??" And so they decide to try and get out of the country on foot. And they pack up all the food and water and cold medicines and stuff from Jensen's place (which is how we find out that Jensen's a bit of a hypochondriac) and go out on foot. END CHAPTER ONE.
2. Road trip. So this part is the boys trying to get into the US and the start of their relationship. I think they'd probably head south to get to LA, see what's going on there and then try and figure out how, from there, to get to Texas or whatever. I think most of the cities between Vancouver and there are pretty close to abandoned, which is why they keep going too. And so anyway, somewhere along the trip, Jared gets sick. I'm thinking the incubation period is averaging 3 days. So Jared's freaking out and telling Jensen to leave him and Jensen's like, "In three days, we'll no. And you'll see what an IDIOT you are." And that's when Jared tells Jensen that he's been thinking about Jensen ever since he found out that Jensen was into guys. I'm imagining that Jensen is Jared's first guy. Tell me if you see it different. And so anyway, Jared gets better and they get back onto the road and they find out that there's a big message board type place like they had after 9/11 where people can post pictures and messages and get in touch with each other, because there's no phone communication right now because all the lines were hijacked by the government when a national emergency was declared. And they find out that Chad's alive and how to find him. END CHAPTER TWO.
3. And so Chapter 3 opens up with them at Chad's place and Chad's filling them in on all the stuff that's happened since they left Canada and who he's seen and stuff. And while they're talking, Jared has an allergy attack, worse than ever before. And Chad tells him he has some friends that can help Jared. So they go to the house and they say they can treat Jared, but someone's got to pay. And Jensen says he'll do it, because Jared's in no state. And so Jensen does and he's good at it and so they come back to him and Jared and make them an offer; a safe haven, good, steady food, hot running water...all the amenities AND medical care for Jared, as long as they keep whoring. Jared tells Jensen that he doesn't have to do this, that Jared can take care of his own problems and he can't and wouldn't ask Jensen to do this. And Jensen tells him that he's not leaving Jared, that these people don't give a fuck about him and that Jensen's not going to leave him alone with them. And they find out that Chad's been pimping people to the house. So they confront him and Chad's like, "You needed someone to help Jay, they helped Jay. Besides, you think you're the only one that's sick?" And that's how they find out Chad has the allergies too. END CHAPTER THREE.
4. This is the part I'm most vague about. I want to get more into the day to day life at the house. About how Jensen becomes really popular and how that's wearing on him, plus the times he ends up working extra to cover Jared when HE'S too sick to work. Explore the way Jared's the one holding Jensen together and how their relationship is deepening despite everything. And then, like I said, I'm not sure how to "end" it so that it's open enough to write more stories later but still bring the core ARC to a close.

That way, J2 have hope that this isn't a "forever" thing.
I'd like to really play up, especially in the last part, how really strong Jared is. I know you mentioned that. And even though he isn't experienced with guys at all (except Jensen) prior to this whole mess, he adapts and bulldozes forward the same way he has always approached life.
Maybe something showing him doing something silly just to make Jensen laugh. And NEVER showing how horrible having to whore himself out is to Jensen.

And yes, I want to play up Jared's strength too. You're totally right; he's NEVER done this kind of act with anyone but Jensen and that's a mindfuck and then having to do it for a JOB really fucks with him too. But he won't/doesn't want to let Jensen know any of that because that's what Jensen needs from HIM.
So...how do you want to do the mechanics? What I was thinking is that it sounds like you've got the Jared stuff down and I know I'm better at writing Jensen, so we can round robin through the four fics.
Alternatively, if you don't like that idea, we could each write two of the four and then edit them together. Also, do you want to write it all out and edit it all before we start posting or do you want to edit and post as we go?

I've also written a certain POV and let my partner write the other, and those were situations like we've got here, where yeah, I think I can write Jared better than jensen. And then maybe we can both just shoot back and forth on the Tom and Mike and whoever and Chad? How does that work for you. Really however you work best.
I'm 100% in total agreement with everything we've discussed so far and see no blips in the plan at all! :)
If you're feeling up to it, I think you should write the opening scene in the airport. Sounds you have it sussed out in your head pretty good and I think you write good hooks better than I.
But, you know, we don't even have to start this until you're feeling better. I want to leave it up to you. I'm working on my OPTathon, so it's not like I'm sitting around going "Damn, where is Erin with her part!" :)

I would really love to write the opening scene. *blushes* I do have it really pictured in my mind. I think you're being kind about the hooks, though. :)

But I'm reading through this outline and I am just entranced. And that fact that Jared and Jensen are so BONDED and making these sacrifices to take care of each other, well, I really, just desperately want to read more of it.
