Rewrite of the ending of Riding the Tiger (The Jeff Arc):

So, since Best of a Bad Situation kind of establishes Taylor Kitsch having a crush on Jared and using/needing Jared to be his touchstone at La Hacienda, it raises the question of what becomes of Taylor when Jared and Jensen finally leave. The way I pitched it to Meg is this:

Our backstory has Taylor's family vanishing in quarantine. The only reason he didn't get taken with them was because he was visiting a friend (Kyle) in L.A. So he knows he's got no one back in Canada, even if he could make it on his own, which is highly unlikely. He doesn't really bond with anyone at the house, outside the Js (and Allie). So when Jared and Jensen pull stakes, the way Taylor looks at it, he's got two choices.

He can't take it at La Hacienda anymore, so he can either go back on the street, like he was before Gina found him, or he can beg/convince Jared and Jensen to take him with and take his chances with them. Hell, they got out of La Hacienda, they have to be the luckiest bastards he knows, right? And, again, he doesn't have anybody else.

I think he would cash out after Jared and Jensen left; he shows up at Jeff's after the threesome. I think Jensen is the more hesitant, but he ends up being the one to say yes because he can't bear to leave Taylor to that house any more than Jared can. Before they leave, Jeff takes Jensen aside. "You know he's in love with Jared, don't you?" Jensen hesitates and then, "Yeah. I know. But Jared loves me." Jeff: "And that's good enough?" Jensen: "It has to be. *headshake* It'll be okay. We'll figure it out. We always do."

Other notes: Taylor's going to be really spooked about working after the roofie incident. This feeds into his desire to get the fuck out of there.

Jensen is going to ask Allie to leave with them. She's their only other CLOSE friend and I think it's going to break Jensen's heart more than a little to leave her there, especially if Tiff writes the threesome with Jensen/Jared/Allie. I/We probably need to think more about why Allie's there and why she stays.

I really kind of want to write a Taylor & Allie (or even a Taylor/Allie) piece where Taylor needs someone to talk to about Jared and his confusion about the whole thing because he wasn't gay before and he doesn't understand how this happened to him, really. And Allie's the only other person he trusts.

I suppose it's really bad/bitchy of me to point out that Gary Dourdan's recent arrest goes a long way in explaining what he's doing at La Hacienda, huh? *sighs* Oh, Gary, man. NO.

Putting here, so it will be in one place. I'm reminded that Taylor also has bought a condo in Austin (for reals), since he likes it so much from filming FNL. So, that is one more think that links him to Texas and a reason to go with the Js.

How was I unaware that you had added Taylor to the Sundown 'verse? I may have just made a noise that only dogs can hear, OMG.

Well, before the story Meg just posted (Best of a Bad Situation), Taylor was only referenced briefly, so it's not surprising you didn't see the mention. But if you haven't read BoaBS, you totally should!

I hadn't but I just did! This is clearly why I should sometimes check comms instead of just filtering journals only. I'm thrilled to see him in the 'verse, makes a hot thing even hotter!
